Jamie Lee Curtis clears air over tearful reaction to Charlie Kirk’s death

Jamie Lee Curtis has hit back at claims she expressed support for conservative activist Charlie Kirk following his tragic death last month. 

The 66-year-old actress became emotional during a recent appearance on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, sparking a social media frenzy.

Jamie told Variety that her reaction had been “mistranslated,” insisting she was not endorsing Kirk’s controversial views. 

“An excerpt of it mistranslated what I was saying as I wished him well – like I was talking about him in a very positive way, which I wasn’t; I was simply talking about his faith in God,” she explained.

The Halloween Ends star also reflected on modern culture’s inability to hold “two ideas at the same time.” 

She said: “You can’t say that, because you get vilified for having a mind that says, ‘I can hold both those thoughts. I can be contradictory in that way.’”

The Freakier Friday actress, known for her candid nature, told fans she won’t shy away from speaking her mind.

Jamie, daughter of Hollywood icons Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, admitted acting was never her plan. 

“I was kind of a weirdo… I became an actor by accident,” she confessed, recalling how getting fired from a short-lived comedy series eventually led her to audition for the iconic role of Laurie Strode in Halloween.
