Liam Payne, who plunged to his death in October 2024, worked hard on his last album which never saw the light of day.
Although the sophomore record did not release, an insider told The Sun about the two songs (Safe in Heaven & Rainbows) and if the melodies would come out.
According to the outlet, the What Makes You Beautiful singer’s album was primarily focused on “searching for a way back to myself.”
It was revealed that the One Direction alum wanted it “to be released” and “share it with his fans who had always supported and backed him.”
The outlet admitted that the project’s “future [is] still on hold, which is hardly surprising given all” the hardships his “family have been through.”
The insider further admitted that the entire project “is really emotional and feels almost autobiographical.”
The outlet disclosed some of the lyrics from the track Rainbows where he gushes: “I got all these rainbows over my head, but somehow I see the sun creeping out the mess.”
Another verse goes: “At times I tend to blur lines, seemed like a good idea when I did it at the time. I blacked out but coming back around.”
Why did Liam Payne’s second album never release?
Despite being the most “reflective piece of work he’d ever done,” the songs did not come out as the “label was concerned he wasn’t in the right headspace to release it.”
The difference became a reason for “them going their separate ways.”
