Olivia Rodrigo is marking her approval for Lily Allen’s shocking, fifth studio album West End Girl.
The Guts hit maker took to her Instagram stories to show her support, after being one of the people that inspired the English songwriter’s comeback after seven years.
“I love this album!!!!” the Bad Idea Right? singer wrote, with a Spotify link of the album, tagging its creator and telling her she’s incredible.
Meanwhile Lily has herself stated that performing her 2009 hit F**k You with Olivia on stage at Glastonbury in 2022 was a major source of inspiration for the album.
West End Girl describes in vivid detail the former’s four-year marriage to the Stranger Things actor David Harbour.
The album was recorded in an impressively short amount of days, ten to be precise, and “could be considered autofiction" as per its creator.
In the deeply personal album, which was called a mixture of fact and fiction, Lily doesn’t beat around the bush as she exposes what appears to be David’s sex addiction and manipulative and controlling behaviours.
Notably, West End Girl has been released on Friday, October 24 and has already gained a lot of critical acclaim.
Yes, Lily and David announced their splt in February of 2025, after separation rumours had started to swirl in late 2024.
