Cruz Beckham sparked widespread excitement online by revealing a surprise collaboration with the Spice Girls, which fans later learned was an April Fools’ prank.
The 21-year-old singer posted a digitally combined image on Instagram, featuring himself with The Breakers alongside the legendary 1990s girl group, designed in the form of album art.
In his caption, he wrote, “it’s finally happening!!! we have delayed the release of waste your pain slightly, as the girls have now agreed to be a part of this song @spicegirls”.
Adding to the buzz, even his mother Victoria Beckham commented, “I'm warming up!” while fans quickly flooded the post with reactions such as “When 2 become 1” and “And we all wish this was true.”
However, the excitement was short lived as followers soon realised the announcement was not real, with Cruz confirming the playful stunt through his post timing.
Meanwhile, Cruz has been focusing on his music career with his band The Breakers, recently completing performances in London venues as part of their ongoing tour.
He has now announced the next phase of their run, revealing plans to take the “For Your Love” tour across North America.
Speaking in a video update, Cruz said, “Hello fellow Breakers. We are very happy and proud to announce the second leg of the For Your Love tour. We're coming to America and Canada. We're excited to see you there so get your tickets now.”
The upcoming tour includes stops in major cities such as Washington D.C., Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
