Princess Anne is said to be deeply concerned about her younger brother Prince Andrew’s wellbeing as pressure mounts over his connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The 65-year-old Duke of York, who recently gave up his title and membership of the Order of the Garter, continues to “vigorously deny all accusations” made against him.
But insiders say the relentless scrutiny has taken a toll.
Speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast, Kay said: “Anne and Edward have been concerned about their brother’s well-being and how he’s handling this intense pressure. You can’t forget there’s a human being at the centre of this.”
Kay added that the pair believe the Royal Family has a “duty of care” toward Andrew, even as King Charles continues to take decisive steps to distance the monarchy from further scandal.
While his royal titles are gone, Andrew will continue to be known simply as Prince Andrew.
