King Charles has made a surprise venture into the world of podcasting, following in the footsteps of his daughter-in-law Meghan Markle, who famously hosted her own award-winning podcast series.
The 76-year-old monarch appeared alongside Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett on the Unearthed podcast by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, to discuss the Millennium Seed Bank, a vital global project preserving plant species threatened by climate change.
Recorded at Windsor Castle in July, the episode featured the King reflecting on his deep connection to conservation.
“I knew about the real damage done to our flower-rich meadows since the war,” he said.
“It’s wonderful what the seed bank is doing, but we’ve got to speed up the process.”
Royal fans flooded social media with praise, calling the King’s collaboration with Blanchett “brilliant” and “so important.”
The move drew comparisons to Meghan Markle, who has long embraced podcasting, hosting Archetypes and Confessions of a Female Founder.
