New singer Sombr has been the topic of internet discourse recently, specifically the crowd and his behaviour at concerts.
The discussion began when a 25 year old concert goer made a video addressing the situation at his shows.
She explained that the audience for the concert was mostly adolescents and tweens, with a lack of adults.
Naturally, the user found the situation to be a bit bizarre, especially since Sombr is known to make inappropriate comments and jokes throughout the show.
Another issue pointed out was the juvenile humour portrayed by the 20 year old singer, whose music does not suit that image.
Many users agreed with the concert experience, expressing their distaste towards the situation.
Sombr responded to the video, seemingly having taken offense to the words of the original creator, defended his use of humour and insisted upon his young age.
Fans and users found the response to be distasteful as one person remarked on X, “why is he trying to say 25 as if that’s old? and he emphasizes that he’s ‘freshly 20’… his response was honestly cringe and proved her point.”
Others called out his inappropriate stage behaviour, “So a 25 year old woman is ‘too old’ to have an opinion, but this nepo baby can play Creepy Uncle Jr. towards little 13-15 year olds and we’re supposed to giggle because he’s just innocent 20 year old baby boy? Please.”
Some users questioned the ego of the singer as a fairly new artist refusing to accept criticism, “If fans are calling your concert ‘cringe’ maybe it’s not the audience that’s the problem. Artists love blaming critics instead of admitting the performance flopped. Sombr’s ego might be bigger than his talent at this point.”
