Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard slammed for ‘gross’ anniversary post

Kristen Bell and husband Dax Shepard are facing heat for the disturbing caption of an anniversary post made by the former.

The post included a sweet photo of Shepard holding the actress in his lap, however, the caption along with it seemed quite bizarre, "Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: 'I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I'm heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.'”

While it appears to be an attempt at a joke by the couple, people questioned why he was “incentivized” to harm his wife, finding it a bizarre way to show affection.

"I ain't even got a gif for this one man what the hell," one user said, at a loss for words, while another prayed, "May this type of relationship never find me."

"Why would you even admit that?,” questioned a third.

Others acknowledged that while this type of humour may be alright when done in private between couples, making those sentiments public in the current climate was tone deaf, "I totally get making this type of joke between yourselves as a couple if you both know what wavelength you're on. Making it publicly when the amount of women and girls falling victim to femicide is increasing along with the normalisation of misogyny is dangerous and gross."

Due to the backlash, Bell has limited the comments on her post but has not given a response.
