Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith’s divorce trial has taken an unexpected turn after the pair called off court proceedings.
According to legal documents obtained by Us Weekly, the pair are now working on a custody agreement for their five-year-old daughter, Juno.
Jodie’s lawyer confirmed that both parties have been negotiating behind the scenes and will return to a private judge to finalise any remaining details.
For the unversed, the 39-year-old actress filed for divorce from the Dawson’s Creek actor, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
She had initially requested joint custody and no spousal support.
While the two agreed to share care arrangements equally, disputes reportedly arose over where Juno should attend school.
As per TMZ, the Queen and Slim actress wanted the right to select a new elementary school close to Joshua’s home, but he allegedly refused to cooperate.
She later accused her estranged husband of withholding child support and prolonging the legal process, making it difficult for her to manage expenses.
Despite the tensions, sources say both remain determined to keep the process civil and reach a resolution that puts their daughter’s wellbeing first.
Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith tied the knot in 2019 after a whirlwind romance that began the year before.
The couple kept their relationship largely private, later welcoming their daughter, Juno, in 2020.
However, by late 2023, Jodie filed for divorce but despite their split, both stars have expressed a desire to prioritise their daughter’s wellbeing as they navigate life post-marriage.
