Melanie C, one of the members of the pop girl group Spice Girls, is back with a bang after being missing in action for six whole years.
The singer announced the release of her upcoming solo album, named sweat, sending a wave of joy among her fans.
Sporty Spice is set to release her album on May 1, 2026. But she will keep fans hooked and promises to drop a music video from the album at 4 pm BST on October 17, 2025.
The 51-year-old pop girl shares that her latest dance album is inspired by the energy and nostalgia of old rave days and will offer an escape to the world in "a very dark time".
Sporty said: “I’ve done a lot of soul-searching. Now I just want to have some fun and get people dancing again.
"But music is what gets me through tough moments. I’m really happy I am bringing out a joyful record at a very dark time.”
Continuing about her album, she added: “Sports, raving, finding joy - these elements are such a huge part of my personality. What works in the club works in the gym - there’s a real crossover.”
The news comes at a time when the girl group will soon mark the 30th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe and there have been rumours surrounding a possible reunion.
