Jennifer Aniston shares striking similarities with Jennette McCurdy

Jennifer Aniston said a straight yes when she was offered to star in the Apple TV adaptation of Jennette McCurdy's memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died.

McCurdy detailed her traumatic childhood in the 2022 bestseller, and in July, Apple TV announced a series adaptation of the book, with Aniston set to portray the character inspired by McCurdy’s mother.

The Emmy-winning actress recently told PEOPLE that she was “immediately intrigued, flattered, and excited” when the offer landed on her desk.

Aniston expressed her enthusiasm about working with McCurdy, Sharon Horgan, and LuckyChap Entertainment. “It’s going to be wonderful. It’s going to be pretty great to start shooting it,” she said.

The Friends alum praised the memoir as “so beautifully written” and called McCurdy “so special.”

“The fact that she’s the young woman that she is, having lived that life, is nothing short of remarkable,” Aniston said during a conversation about her latest Pvolve campaign to launch the Longevity Bundle.

However, there’s also an emotional reason why the story intrigued The Morning Show actress, who serves as an executive producer on the project.

“We have a lot in common,” Aniston shared of herself and McCurdy. “We had very similar moms.”
