Diane Keaton could light up anyone’s day with her humor, talent, and distinctive sense of style, as Kimberly Williams-Paisley recalled a memorable shopping spree with her.
Williams-Paisley reminisced about an outing with the late Oscar-winning actress while speaking to PEOPLE about working with Keaton on the Father of the Bride movies in the 1990s.
"I remember one day she invited me to go to the swap meet at the Rose Bowl, and I just had no idea how seriously she took it," Kimberly recalled.
"It was incredible," she said of the event. "Of course, we had to get there right when it opened, and she had her special swap-meet cart, a foldout cart that fit right into the trunk.”
Kimberly recalled Keaton taking her cart out of the trunk and “popping it open and it was so serious.”
“She showed up in this full-on Diane Keaton outfit that covered every bit of her skin,” Kimberly added. “I was just completely underprepared for what we were about to experience."
Kimberly also remembered how Keaton was “so kind” and told her, “‘Alright, here’s $5. Go buy something. You have to buy something.’ So we went through, and I remember getting this little plastic flower, and she bought pancake makers and all kinds of stuff. She loved a good swap meet.”
