Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may never recreate the success of their record-breaking Netflix docuseries, according to a PR expert who says their biggest media moment was “a one-time, explosive event.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s six-part 2022 series Harry & Meghan pulled in over 28 million households worldwide, offering an unprecedented look inside their royal exit and sparking global headlines.
But PR strategist Edward Coram-James says that level of fascination was impossible to sustain.
“The success of the Harry & Meghan doc was built on a finite resource, the public’s insatiable curiosity about their decision to leave the royal family,” he told Express.co.uk.
“It was a one-time, explosive event. They pulled back the curtain on the monarchy, and that’s a story you can only tell once.”
Since then, the Sussexes’ Netflix ventures, including Harry’s polo docuseries and Meghan’s new lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, have struggled to match those numbers.
