Victoria Beckham, famously known as Posh Spice, is currently making headlines for her recently released Netflix documentary.
The 51-year-old fashion designer has previously spoken candidly about her struggles with food, but she revealed that she had a “really honest” conversation with her 14-year-old daughter, Harper, before her new Netflix documentary aired.
Victoria, who also shares Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, with husband David, admitted she wanted Harper to hear about her issues firsthand rather than picking it up from the screen.
“We just had a really honest conversation,” she told the Mail on Sunday.
“I explained that when you have issues with food, it is all-consuming. It’s a very lonely place. I thought it was important she heard it from me first.”
The mother-of-four hopes Harper enjoys a “really healthy relationship” with food, noting that discussions about diet and body image have been ongoing at home.
“Little girls think a lot about food as they’re growing up, especially during puberty. My wish is that Harper eats healthily and finds balance,” she said.
The documentary also revisits the scrutiny Victoria faced over her weight, including the infamous incident on TFI Friday where Chris Evans weighed her live on TV just two months after giving birth to Brooklyn.
She recalled how hurtful the experience was, not just for her, but for her children.
