Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton has passed away at the age of 79.
On October 11, the legendary actress died in California, as confirmed by PEOPLE magazine. However, the star’s family and spokesperson have requested privacy when asked for further details.
The acclaimed American actress, director, and producer, known for her quirky charm and versatility, rose to fame with The Godfather films and Annie Hall (1977), which earned her an Oscar and made her a defining figure of 1970s cinema.
Her career spanned romantic comedies, dramas, and iconic collaborations with Woody Allen. Her extensive career includes The First Wives Club, multiple collaborations with director Nancy Meyers, and the Book Club franchise.
Keaton made her last Instagram post on April 11, sharing photos of her pet dog on National Pet Day.
“Proof our pets have great taste too! Happy National Pet Day from HG & @diane_keaton,” the caption read, posted by shopping outlet Hudson Grace in collaboration with Keaton.
The photo showed Keaton kneeling beside her golden retriever, Reggie.
As the actress hadn’t been active online for the past few weeks, fans began to express concern about her absence.
“I miss you here. Hope you are okay,” one person wrote in September.
Another added, “I’m just another woman across the world wondering how you are since you haven’t posted for months. Sending you hugs from Australia.”
