Wendy Osefo, one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Potomac, has been arrested on fraud charges along with her husband.
The arrest took place on Thursday in Maryland after being indicted by a grand jury for falsely reporting a home burglary and theft.
The 41 year old is facing 16 charges of making false/misleading information fraud as well as giving false statements to the authorities. Her husband faces 18 charges for many of the same crimes.
A spokesperson for the pair assured fans that they are back home, “They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues. The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
Authorities had been called to the couple’s home in 2024, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. They told the deputies that their house had been found to be burglarized after they returned from vacation.
They further claimed that goods worth around $200,000 had been taken, including jewelry, luxury goods, clothing, and shoes.
