Denise Richards sobs in court over alleged abuse from husband

Denise Richards grew emotional at the court as she recounted the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband, Aaron Phypers.

Amid their divorce proceedings, she was granted a temporary restraining order against him on July 17.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recounted several incidents of physical and emotional abuse that left her fearing for her life.

Perfectly composed during the trial, at one point she grew emotional and asked for tissues while recalling a particular incident from July.

Richards alleged that Phypers had become volatile with her at the Four Seasons hotel, only a few hours after she had undergone several cosmetic surgeries, which included a nose job.

While she had been asleep, he went through her phone and then attacked her face, which damaged a drain.

"That is when I really, really knew that our marriage was over because there's been physical abuse, but it kept getting worse and worse," Richards said on the stand. "But the fact that he did that to me five hours after coming out of a seven-hour surgery … made me feel a lot of things. Scared and vulnerable. I couldn't walk by myself."

The reality TV star added, "And the person I looked to as my husband to protect me, wasn't anymore. That's when I really, really knew there wasn't going back. To do that to your wife coming out of surgery?"

"I felt broken and defeated and so alone and just so vulnerable because I just had an extensive surgery. Him knowing the body and wellness and working on people ... and to do that to your wife?,” she questioned further.

The trail is currently ongoing, with differing claims from both parties.
