Ahead of the release of her new album The Life of a Showgirl, the singer made an appearance on The Graham Norton Show.
During the show’s recording, the album was a few hours away from its release but to viewers it seemed like the panel got an early listen to the album.
The couch full of guests seemed to be jamming to her new single The Fate of Ophelia.
However, in reality the guests, including s Cillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie-Turner Smith, Domhnall Gleeson and Lewis Capaldi, were actually sitting in silence.
An audience member, Sammie Nicole, shared a video on TikTok where she revealed they were told to fake their reactions to the song.
“There was silence in the studio, we were all told to pretend we were hearing it, because obviously they couldn't play it because it hasn't come out yet, and they didn't want it to leak anywhere.”, she said.
