Kim Kardashian-produced documentary series Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar is set to stream in the U.S. on Fox Nation beginning October 6.
The three-part docuseries was originally commissioned by the BBC, produced by Passion Pictures, and first aired on the British broadcaster last year. It was acquired for American audiences after Fox Nation struck a deal with distributor Fremantle.
Directed by James House, the documentary delves into the life of one of Hollywood’s most legendary figures, charting how Elizabeth Taylor shattered the industry’s glass ceiling.
It narrates how Elizabeth built a billion-dollar business empire and redefined celebrity activism through her groundbreaking work in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The series also includes the first filmed interview with Taylor’s son, Chris Wilding, and features reflections from Dame Joan Collins, Sharon Stone, and Paris Jackson.
Kardashian, who conducted Taylor’s final interview in 2011, shared her admiration for the star. “We were actually supposed to meet up for tea at her house, and then she fell ill,” Kardashian told Harper’s Bazaar last year. “We were talking about fighting for people. She understood her power and her beauty.”
Born in London, Taylor became an international icon with credits including Cleopatra and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. She died in 2011 at the age of 79.
The docuseries lists Jemma Chisnall as series producer, with Caroline Sciama as producer, and executive producers including Kardashian, Hamish Fergusson, Kari Lia, David Moulton, and Andrew Ruhemann.
