Peaky Blinders is returning to small screens once again, as the show’s creator has Steven Knight has announced that he will be stepping back into the Shelbys universe with the iconic Thomas Shelby actor Cillian Murphy.
The Academy Award winner’s involvement as of yet has been revealed to be as an executive producer, as the cast and other details are being kept hush-hush for now.
As per a plot description, “After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel.”
“In a new era of Steven Knight’s ‘Peaky Blinders,’ the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger: with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart,” it continues.
The creator emphasises that the series focuses on a new generation of the family, and their takeover of Birmingham.
Moreover, the episodes for the two-season will be around an hour long each, with each season having only six of them.
Notably, fans of the Peaky Blinders don’t have to wait too long for another glimpse into the world of the contentious family as the movie also associated with the series, The Immortal Man, is expected to release in early 2026.
