Taylor Swift is giving the inside scoop on her mindset on The Eras Tour, while hinting at its influence on The Life of a Showgirl.
The I Can Do It With a Broken Heart singer referenced her last vinyl variant for the album, which was exclusively available on Target, called “The Crowd Is Your King,” edition.
In her interview with Magic FM, the Opalite crooner was talking about the title track and how some of its lyrics are “sort of like the manifesto of how I’ve had to operate within this industry.”
Taylor goes on to add that the song is about meeting an idol in the industry and them being candid about the challenges that come with stardom, and being warned against following in their footsteps.
The 35-year-old then compared it to her approach with her record-breaking The Eras Tour, and how she had to overcome personal hardships for the sake of her fans.
“Every one of us on that tour operated from that standpoint of like the crowd is your king, it’s not the other way around,” Taylor stated.
Notably, The Eras Tour spanned over a year and its extensive and high-powered performances coupled with extremely high demand have made it a cultural phenomenon.
