Prince William has opened up about how his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are adjusting after Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis and recovery.
Speaking on The Reluctant Traveler with actor Eugene Levy, the Prince of Wales, 43, revealed that each of his children has been “learning and adapting” in their own way.
“Everyone has their own coping mechanisms,” he explained. “We try to make sure we give them the security and safety they need. We’re a very open family, so we talk about things that bother us and reassure the children that everything is okay.”
Kate, 43, publicly confirmed her diagnosis in March 2024 after undergoing major abdominal surgery earlier that year.
She completed chemotherapy in September and announced she was in remission in early 2025.
At the time, she stressed that she and William were “doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
Reflecting on the past year, William admitted: “2024 was the hardest year I’ve ever had. Protecting the children, Catherine, and my father while continuing my role was tricky.”
Still, the prince said things are “progressing in the right way” and praised his family’s resilience.
