Buckingham Palace has broken its silence after rumours surfaced of a furious clash between Donald Trump’s Secret Service detail and King Charles’s kitchen staff at Windsor Castle.
The US President, 79, was guest of honour at a glittering state banquet on Wednesday, where he and the King hailed the “special relationship” between the UK and US.
But reports suggested the mood soured behind the scenes when American agents allegedly clashed with royal chefs.
According to claims, tensions flared as Secret Service personnel entered the kitchens to “inspect” and even “sample” food being prepared for the lavish three-course meal.
Chefs were said to have grown irritated at the constant checks, with voices reportedly raised during a heated exchange.
A source told the Daily Mail: “The banquet was a resounding success in the main hall, but there was a disruption behind the scenes.”
However, Buckingham Palace swiftly dismissed the claims. A spokesperson said: “This story, and these claims, are categorically untrue.”
