‘The View’ rumours after Jimmy Kimmel suspension are false: source

Jimmy Kimmel Live! shutdown news shook Hollywood stars and late-night franchise advocates, but The View ladies maintained silence amid the political drama.

On Wednesday, September 17, ABC confirmed that Jimmy Kimmel’s show had been shut down after his statement over the death of Charlie Kirk and the political drama behind it.

The opinionated staff of The View remained normal as the morning show aired as usual, surprising viewers since the news wasn’t mentioned at all during the show.

Panellists Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar and Alyssa Farah Griffin also refrained from discussing the Kimmel news during the Sept. 19 broadcast.

Therefore, reports erupted that “chaos” had erupted behind the scenes of the ABC talk show, although People confirmed that it was “false.”

"There is no chaos at the show," the source told the outlet. "As always, the team is focused on doing the job of producing a daily talk show and having thoughtful conversations at the table."

In his Sept. 15 monologue, Kimmel addressed the death of Kirk, a conservative commentator who had been killed during a campus event at Utah Valley University the week before.

The late-night host had already shared condolences with Kirk’s family in an Instagram post.

But after the episode was pulled, Sinclair Broadcasting informed Kimmel that for his show to return, he would need to “issue a direct apology to the Kirk family” and make a “meaningful personal donation” to both the family and Kirk’s nonprofit, Turning Point USA.
