Prince Harry called hypocrite for calling UK unsafe but flying to Ukraine

Prince Harry has been accused of hypocrisy after travelling to war-torn Ukraine while continuing to argue that the UK is unsafe for him and his family.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, has long battled the Home Office over his police protection being downgraded since stepping down as a working royal in 2020, once declaring: “My life is at stake.”

However, his decision to accept an invitation to Kyiv has raised eyebrows. Royal biographer Hugo Vickers told The Sun: “Going into a war zone … he knows what he’s doing, but there is a hypocritical element there.”

Vickers added that Harry faces little real danger in Britain: “He’s swept into safe-looking vehicles when he visits. He doesn’t get police outriders, fine, but why should he?”

Harry’s Ukraine visit came just days before his birthday, at the invitation of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and trauma centre CEO Olga Rudnieva.
