A royal insider has revealed what President Donald Trump really thought about his historic second state visit to the UK this week where he met King Charles and other royals, and the verdict is glowing.
The president and First Lady Melania Trump wrapped up their Windsor stay on Thursday morning, before heading to Chequers to continue the visit with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
According to a palace source cited by Express, the couple was “very easy to deal with” and deeply impressed by the pomp and pageantry that defined the visit.
“All elements of the spectacle created an awesome show,” the insider said. “
"You can tell from their expressions how much they appreciated it. It was very pleasing to see the state visit so warmly received on both sides of the Atlantic. This is soft power and diplomacy at its finest.”
The warm words were echoed by Trump himself as he left Windsor Castle.
Before getting into his car, he praised the King, calling him “a great gentleman and a great King.”
