Young Thug appears to be interested in reconciliation as he puts out a new track essentially apologizing to his loved ones.
The Trance rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams II, released Man I Miss Dogs on Thursday night, name-dropping a number of fellow singers.
The 7-minute tracks addresses namely Mariah The Scientist, Drake, Gucci Mane, 21 Savage, Future and Lil Baby, seeking to make amends with these people due to strain being put on his relationship with them as a result of his infamous RICO trial.
Thug starts off the song with “Baby I’m sorry, one of my biggest fears is losing you to the internet/ One of my biggest fears is waking up in our bed without you right by my neck/” referring to the Burning Blue singer.
The 34-year-old then mentions Drake, saying, “Drizzy, you my brother/ You know I ain’t going against you/ I got manners/ Everything you did for the rap community can’t ban you/.”
Thug then tells the Passionfruit rapper to drop by his house any time he wants and to not focus on his leaked jail call and instead remember all the ones they had.
Notably, the Gang Up singer’s alleged calls during the YSL case have recently been making rounds on the internet.
YSL Records racketeering trial was a highly publicised criminal case in Georgia involving Young Thug and his affiliates.
Prosecutors accused Thug’s YSL Records of operating as a music company and as an illegal gang. The trial began on 27 November 2023 and ended on 3 December 2024 with the acquittal of Yak Gotti.
