Catherine Zeta-Jones, who is known for her role in The Mask of Zorro, stirred a debate online after revealing a fan moment with a minor.
While Catherine is amongst some of the most lovable celebrities in Hollywood, her comments seemingly backfired as they were deemed "inappropriate."
During her appearance on the Late Night with Seth Meyers, the 55-year-old recalled an encounter with a “cute 12-year-old boy” who wanted her “autograph.”
Catherine then admitted doing the math in her head, calculating that when she turns “70,” the lad “will be like, 33.”
The Wednesday star, married to Michael Douglas, highlighted that she is now gaining fans from “new generation.”
When Seth stressed that one should not “give them your number when they’re 12,” to which she replied that Michael (her husband) was “25 years older than me.”
While the attendees of the show burst into laughter, the online community did not like the remarks, labelling it “creepy.”
One of the netizens pointed out that the comment about his age was not “appropriate,” while another felt it is “getting really weird now.”
A third fan criticised the “creepy” thoughts that she had “interacting with a 12-year-old.”
The actress appeared on the show to promote the newly released season of the horror comedy; however, she unintentionally landed in a controversy.
The new instalment of Wednesday is premiering on Netflix, starring Jenna Ortega as the lead.
