Rachel Platten, best known for her track Fight Song, has made the decision to reclaim ownership of her music in the steps of Taylor Swift.

She revealed that she will be dropping an album featuring “Rachel’s Versions”, which will include songs Stand By You, Better Place and Fight Song.

In a statement, the singer wrote, “Now, as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Fight Song, I’ve gone back to some of my originals, not to change them, but to reclaim them. This is about more than just new versions of old songs; the new Rachel’s Versions are infused with the voice I have now, the wisdom I’ve gained, and the undeniable pride of owning my own masters. I’m grateful to Taylor Swift for bringing this conversation to light and empowering artists to take back control over their work, their stories, and their futures.”

She continued, “Most importantly, thank you to all of you, who have stood by me over these years. I can’t wait for you to hear them again — this time, fully, completely, and unapologetically mine.”

Swift herself has spoken about the doors her decision has opened for younger artists, telling Jason and Travis Kelce, “One thing I think is really great that has come about because of this is that I have so many new artists come up to me now and say, ‘Hey I didn’t even know this was a thing, and when I went to negotiate for my record deal, I negotiated to have my masters revert back to me after a certain number of years.’ It’s not for everyone. Not everyone cares about this. Artist to artist, artists have different priorities.”
