Elizabeth Hurley comments on Maya Jama ‘copying’ her iconic Versace dress

English actress Elizabeth Hurley is now creating headlines with her partner Billy Ray Cyrus, but three decades ago she made headlines for something else.

The actress dropped jaws in 1996 with her Versace dress when she accompanied her then-boyfriend Hugh Grant to the London premiere of his movie Four Weddings and a Funeral.

The black and golden dress is still one of the most memorable red carpet looks and many remember it as “The Elizabeth Hurley Dress”.

Many people have tried to recreate the moment with a version of that dress, most recently being Maya Jama.

The TV presenter wore it to the MTV Europe Music Awards last year in November.

The Bedazzled actress shared her views on Maya’s take on the dress saying she is “delighted”.

“I mean, to me, it's really odd but it's actually kind of fabulous.”, she told Daily Mail.

“Over the years, people have said to me, it's the dress's 20th birthday, or it's the dress's 25th, and I'm like, this is insane.”, Elizabeth said explaining the prominence of the dress.

Previously, the actress had revealed she received the dress in a little white plastic bag on the tube. It was the first time she wore the designer, who passed away in 1997.
