Benny Blanco makes surprising admission about music taste

Benny Blanco has contributed to some of the most timeless hits of all time, but his music taste has apparently not evolved more than a 15-year-old girl’s.

The music producer, who has worked on tracks such as Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream, Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera's Moves Like Jagger, has revealed his thought process when creating songs, along with the youthful hits he prefers.

In an interview for Harper's BAZAAR for its Icons issue, the 37-year-old stated, “I feel like my mind and a 15-year-old girl’s mind are very similar in what we like, musically, I’ve just always been drawn to having fun and making stuff that makes me feel good.”

Benny explains, “If it winds up being something that other people like, then that’s cool to me. If it doesn’t, then that’s also cool to me. I think being iconic is not giving a f***."

The TiK ToK collaborator with Kesha also noted that he had no idea that his career would be as big as it is.

Benny recalled that when he was working on the songs, he would just be having fun and things just happened to fall into place.
