Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson added to King Charles' problems with their shocking plans to unveil royal secrets.
The Duke and Duchess of York have still been included by the monarch at several royal gatherings in order to protect the monarch from their drama.
A royal expert, Andrew Lownie, who wrote, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, claimed that the King made a meaningful decision for the Yorks despite knowing the "reputational damage" Andrew caused to the Firm.
In conversation with Woman's Day, he said, "Charles is a kind man and was fond of Andrew as a child, but he has no illusions about him and can see the reputational damage to the monarchy that he is causing."
Lownie showed sympathy towards the cancer-stricken Charles, who is currently prioritising serving people and doesn’t want family tensions.
"He has realised he cannot evict Andrew from Royal Lodge (while he honours the tenancy) but has cut his financial support. All he can do now is keep his brother out of public sight," the author shared.
King Charles "keep Andrew and Fergie inside the tent rather than risk them causing trouble."
Lownie revealed that the now former partners have "threatened to write books. [Fergie] has often hinted she – or associates – might spill the beans," hence, the monarch is saving the royal family from more negative light.
