Kylie Minogue issues response to Taylor Swift ‘Showgirl’ comparisons

Kylie Minogue has directly addressed fans who were outraged by Taylor Swift’s album cover art and title The Life Of A Showgirl, since it seemed like she was copying the former.

The Australian singer took to her social media soon after the comparisons went viral to share her thoughts on the matter.

In an Instagram post on her official page, the Chiggy Wiggy singer uploaded a carousel of images of her dressed up as a showgirl, with dramatic getups that closely resembled the pictures put out by the 14-time Grammy winner.

However, Kylie appeared to be appreciative of Taylor’s new era, as she began the caption of the post by reflecting on her own Showgirl era before remarking on other's.

The Step Back in Time singer noted, “Showgirl life is ‘a thing’, multi dimensional and so much more than feathers and dazzle,” adding a sparkly red heart.

She continued, “respect and admiration to all my fellow hard working Showgirls” with a kissy face emoji, squashing the ‘controversy.’

Notably, Taylor has not spoken up about the comparisons as of yet, and has not revealed if she was inspired by the two-time Grammy winner.
