Scooter Braun has sparked debate after throwing his support behind Spencer Pratt’s unlikely bid to become the next mayor of Los Angeles.

He called the reality star’s approach “common sense” and refreshingly blunt.

The 42-year-old music executive, who is reportedly dating actress Sydney Sweeney, praised Spencer during an appearance on the Second Thought podcast.

He said that voters are tired of complicated politics and want straight-talking leadership.

“What I really appreciate about what Spencer’s doing is he’s bringing a lot of things to light that no one else has,” he said.

He added that Spencer is “speaking for a lot of people who are frustrated and just want common sense and plain speaking,” describing the campaign as “very interesting to watch.”

Spencer, best known from reality TV, announced his mayoral run earlier this year and has since doubled down on his bold promises.

He recently warned that he could leave Los Angeles altogether if he fails to win, saying he would chase “the last American dream” elsewhere if voters don’t back him.

Speaking to comedian Adam Carolla, Spencer said he would walk away from the city if current political figures remain in power, adding: “I’ll be done with trying to live in Los Angeles.”

The reality star and his wife Heidi Montag have also been involved in a legal battle with the city of Los Angeles and the Department of Water and Power after their home was destroyed in the Pacific Palisades fire in 2025.

Spencer says he is determined to fight the case, but admitted he may ultimately rebuild his life in another state, insisting he won’t reinvest in a city he no longer trusts if things don’t change at the top.
