Scooter Braun has reflected on the Taylor Swift dispute that placed him under intense industry scrutiny.

In his latest interview, the 43-year-old addressed about the backlash he faced after buying Big Machine Records in 2019, which owned the rights to the pop icon's earlier albums.

Speaking on Second Thought, he remarked, "I don't know Taylor Swift. I think I've met her in my life three times. I have never had a substantial conversation with her in my life."

He further stated, "She told me she had the utmost respect for me. I told her I had the most respect for her."

According to him, there was no communication between them during the acquisition process, making the Grammy winning singer’s public criticism unexpected.

"Just as confused that this is part of my life as you are," he said of the backlash that followed.

Despite becoming a central figure in one of music’s most public disputes, he said he has made peace with the experience, adding,

"I chose to learn and grow from it. I’m grateful for it at this point in my life."

"I will never truly understand that situation," he explained. "I wish her nothing but the best."

For the unfamiliar, the feud dates back to 2019 when Braun's company purchased Big Machine Records, which held the rights to Swift's first six albums. Swift publicly slammed the deal and later re-recorded all her albums to take back ownership of her music.
