Sarah Ferguson shuts down Prince Andrews odd Royal Lodge toy game: source

Prince Andrew’s long-rumoured love of stuffed animals is back in the spotlight, and Sarah Ferguson reportedly isn’t amused.

The Duke of York, 64, is said to “test” housekeeping at Royal Lodge by hiding a toy monkey for staff to find, a continuation of his alleged “lifelong teddy bear obsession” detailed in historian Andrew Lownie’s new book The Rise and Fall of the House of York.

Per the Daily Mail’s Ephraim Hardcastle column, the “game” dates back to Andrew’s Buckingham Palace days, when a handwritten guide supposedly instructed staff how to arrange blankets, a fur and five soft toys, alongside cushions labeled “Daddy,” “Ducks” and “Prince.”

A former royal protection officer also previously claimed the Duke would “scream” if the setup wasn’t perfect.

A palace insider now alleges the routine continues at Windsor, unless Sarah is in residence.

The Duchess of York “takes a dim view” of the antics and shuts them down, the source says, according to Express UK

Andrew, who stepped back from duties in 2019, has faced ongoing scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, allegations he has consistently denied.

This week he was photographed driving near Windsor; body-language expert Judi James noted a softer look: less “haunted,” fewer signs of tension, and a more “philosophical” demeanour than his typical “status” signals.
