US reality star and entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel has weighed in on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bumpy run in Hollywood, and she didn’t mince words.
Speaking after being named Us Weekly’s Entrepreneur of the Year, the Skinnygirl founder said the Sussexes’ string of high-profile ventures, from Spotify’s axed podcast deal to a newly “first-look” Netflix agreement, hasn’t landed because they tried to do too much, too fast.
“I bet they’re good, decent people,” Frankel said, arguing the couple wanted to step back from fame without giving up an expensive Montecito lifestyle.
“It’s hard for things to land… they made all these different deals. Business is really hard.”
Since leaving the royal family in 2020, Harry has released his bombshell memoir Spare, while Meghan launched her As Ever brand and a podcast before Spotify pulled the plug.
Their production company Archewell remains with Netflix on a multi-year first-look pact but, as critics note, it funds projects case-by-case, not with a massive upfront check.
Still, Frankel praised their unity: “I respect that relationship and loyalty… it’s just not that easy. If it were, everyone would be good at it.”
