Meghan Markle, Prince Harrys renewed Netflix deal is an embarrassing downgrade

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have renewed their partnership with Netflix, but insiders say the new arrangement is a far cry from their original blockbuster pact.

The couple confirmed a “multi-year” first-look deal for film and TV, including season two of With Love, Meghan and a December holiday special.

Meghan also teased brand synergy: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand.”

Not everyone is impressed. Commentator Kinsley Schofield told TalkTV the refreshed agreement looks like a strategic “downgrade” designed to spare blushes.

“Netflix did not want to have the same egg on their face that Spotify had when they had to admit that they had mismanaged thousands of dollars when it came to offering the Sussexes the Spotify deal.”

This means, less blank-check hype, more pay-per-project accountability.

After mixed results since their splashy 2020 debut, from the hit Harry & Meghan doc to quieter performers, the streamer appears to be betting on targeted lifestyle content and lower-risk projects tied to Meghan’s As Ever.

Still, the slate keeps the Sussexes in the game through the holidays, with a Montecito-set special promising friends, family, and festive “how-tos.”
