Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have surprised Hollywood by renewing their Netflix partnership, but don’t expect a sequel to their explosive 2022 docu-series.
An insider says a second fly-on-the-wall Harry & Meghan is off the table, as the pair shift to a “pay-per-show” first-look deal that funds only the projects they personally bring in.
The new multi-year agreement reportedly isn’t as rich as their initial headline-grabbing pact, but Netflix will continue to back Archewell Productions, including staffing and office support.
So what’s coming instead? Meghan’s lifestyle series With Love, Meghan returns later this year, with a holiday special tipped to land in December, potentially the same night as Princess Kate’s annual Christmas carol concert, setting up a festive TV face-off.
Also in the pipeline: Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within, a short documentary highlighting children living in an African orphanage amid the legacy of HIV/AIDS, echoing Princess Diana’s humanitarian focus.
The strategy pivot suggests fewer royal revelations and more values-led, lifestyle and impact content, projects Harry and Meghan believe can stand on their own without revisiting palace drama.
As Meghan put it, they’re “proud to extend” the partnership and expand collaboration around her As Ever brand.
