Prince Harry has been urged to make a surprise return to the UK for cousin Peter Phillips’ wedding, with experts claiming it could help repair his public image.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, has faced plummeting popularity since stepping down as a working royal in 2020.
But branding expert Nick Ede believes attending Peter’s big day could be a “nice way of starting to heal the rift” with his family.
Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne, announced his engagement to Harriet Sperling on August 1.
“Prince Harry has always been close to Peter Phillips and has been known to attend major royal occasions on his own,” Ede told The Express.
“If he doesn’t attend, it will look petty and like he isn’t supporting his cousin.”
However, Harry’s attendance could stir fresh royal drama.
His older brother, Prince William, reportedly hasn’t spoken to him in years and is said to have “no interest” in reconciliation.
Harry skipped the Duke of Westminster’s wedding last year to avoid a public clash with William, but showing up for Peter could reignite tensions.
With the Sussexes’ relationship with the royals still on ice, all eyes will be on whether Harry accepts the invite.
