Dave Franco’s Luigi Mangione comment sparks outrage

Luigi Mangione was arrested after being accused of killing Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare in 2024.

The arrest was followed by a campaign of support for the 27-year-old as supporters believe it was a stand against the disrupted health care system of United States as for years there have been demands for the health care system to have reforms.

On the other hands, some view him as a murdered which makes him a controversial person.

Since his arrest, people have been comparing his facial features to the actor Dave Franco who has now commented on being given an opportunity to play the role of Luigi in a movie based on him.

Appearing on Watch What Happens Live with his wife, Alison Brie, Dave said “No one has approached me about it yet, I’ll say that.”.

However, he added that if given the opportunity, he is willing to do it with the right people.

The comment has sparked a debate as many believe that it was opportunity to raise the voice for the much needed health care reforms but it has been reduced down to entertainment fodder only with no real life applications that could bring positive change.
