Diddy, who was found guilty of two counts in sex trafficking and racketeering case, is all set to be appear in the court for sentence hearing on October 3.
After the 55-year-old rapper was denied bail for the fifth time, Diddy’s defence team member finally broke silence to spill the beans.
Nicole Westmoreland admitted in an interview with CNN that the musician’s legal team “reached out” to President Trump and “had conversations [with him] in reference to a pardon.”
The lawyer was reminded about the fact that Trump has reportedly denied a pardon to Diddy, considering his past behaviour.
According to the politician, the music mogul was initially a “nice guy” but was “very hostile” when he “ran for office.”
The Bad Boy Records owner’s representative was enquired about his feelings on possibly missing a chance of get out of jail free card.
However, she insisted that the Victory hitmaker is a “very hopeful” person. “I believe that he remains hopeful,” she added.
Although Trump admitted that providing a presidential pardon will be “difficult for him,” Nicole’s statement indicates that the rapper is still looking forward to clear his name of charges.
It is to be noted that Nicole has been allegedly raped in 2001, making her a survivor of sexual assault, which made her an interesting addition to his team.
In their verdict, the jury declared that the record executive was not guilty of heinous charges while he was convicted of lesser charges of transportation and prostitution.
