Brandy has spoken out after facing cruel comments about her appearance, delivering an emotional message urging people to stop judging others by the way they look.

The 47-year-old singer and actress, who has recently returned to the spotlight, shared a series of glamorous photos on Instagram alongside a heartfelt reflection on what beauty truly means.

Rather than hitting back in anger, the Moesha star encouraged fans to rethink society's obsession with youth and perfection.

Brandy said beauty isn't found in "faces that never age" or bodies that never change, but in the experiences that shape people throughout life.

The R&B icon also reminded followers that it's impossible to know what someone has been through simply by looking at them.

She stressed that while it takes only seconds to judge a person's appearance, it can take a lifetime to understand their story.

She added that words and opinions carry real weight, just as kindness does, urging people to show more compassion towards one another.

The songstress revealed she no longer seeks validation from her reflection or from the opinions of strangers, saying she knows who she is and that confidence has given her a freedom no criticism can take away.

Brandy ended her heartfelt post with a moving reminder that every person is "someone's child, someone's friend, someone's dream" and deserves to be treated with dignity rather than harsh judgement over their looks.

The actress, best known for Moesha, Disney's 1997 live-action Cinderella and chart-topping hits including The Boy Is Mine and Have You Ever?, has enjoyed a resurgence this year.

In March, she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame before releasing her memoir Phases, in which she candidly opened up about her long-running feud with Monica.
