Vanessa Kirby shares if Robert Downey Jr. appears in ‘Fantastic Four

MCU’s latest movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Sue Storm actress Vanessa Kirby revealed whether Robert Downey Jr. was on set for the filming of the mid-credits scene where Victor Doom appeared.

Recently, speaking with Variety, the Oscar-nominated actor shared that the scene was directed by the Russo Brothers.

Kirby confirmed that the scene was filmed during the under-production of Avengers: Doomsday, and that the former Iron Man was really on set.

The scene showed a first look at Dr. Doom, who appeared in the Baxter Building holding baby Franklin Richards.

Doom had his mask off in his hands, although the audience couldn’t see his face as his back was facing the camera, which fueled speculation that Robert Downey wasn’t on set.

However, Kirby cleared the air by confirming that the scene featured the first look of Robert in the character of Doom.

"Yeah!" Kirby said about sharing the scene with Robert. "Robert's never not been on set. He's always there. He is our leader. We call him our Godfather. He's looked after us. It's such a joy working with the Russos and him, because they've had such deep collaboration for so long.”

"And it's been amazing being pregnant and working on Avengers," Kirby further added. "I felt so inspired and so relieved that I've been so taken care of. It's been a really beautiful journey. Robert is just doing incredible work. I'm so excited."
