James Gunn’s Superman, which is a launchpad for the new DC Universe, has reached its third weekend since its release date, and it's still crushing at the box office.
The movie stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Isabela Merced, Sara Sampaio, Skyler Gisondo, and others.
As of now, Superman is the highest-grossing superhero movie of 2025 so far.
Last weekend, the DC movie passed Marvel’s Thunderbolts, which made $382.1 million worldwide, whereas Superman is currently at $472.4 million globally, with $271.7 million domestically and $200.7 million internationally.
Superman’s performance is above Captain America: Brave New World, which grossed $415.1 million total.
However, Superman’s performance consistency depends on the performance of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which was released on July 25, 2025.
The latest MCU film opened with $57 million domestically and $106 million worldwide.
The iconic DC superhero reboot has been a huge hit in the United States, earning more than $253 million (£186 million) domestically and $200.7 million internationally.
