'Predator: Badlands’ creator hints at a Schwarzenegger comeback

Dan Trachtenberg opened up about the upcoming Predator: Badlands movie at San Diego Comic-Con.

About his first time experiencing the movie as a child, he remarked, “I grew up loving the idea of seeing an R-rated movie for the first time and ‘Predator’ was that.”

He further revealed that he had recently had breakfast with the star from the original, Arnold Schwarzenegger and that he will “cook up stuff for that guy.”

Badlands was inspired by the realization of the director that “the Predator never wins. They’re supposed to be the greatest hunters in the galaxy.”

“We really have never in movies seen the Predator hunting on a planet where everything, from grass to creatures, could kill you. He’s essentially the Dutch of this movie,” Trachtenberg continued.

Star Dimitrius Koloamatangi remarked, “It was a really fun experiment, the whole process of bringing Dek to life. The suit is a little taxing. But it’s really rewarding feeling when you get to hang up your boots – or your Yautja feet.”

“Cast out from its clan, an alien hunter and an unlikely ally embark on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary,” reads the synopsis of the flick.
