Princess Anne is turning 75 on August 15, and she’s receiving a truly regal present: her very own coin.
For the first time ever, the Royal Mint is issuing a UK coin in Princess Anne’s honor, featuring her portrait by royal photographer John Swannell.
The striking image shows the Princess Royal wearing the Aquamarine Pineflower Tiara, a nod to her longstanding commitment to royal tradition.
The special £5 coin also includes Princess Anne’s official coat of arms, which reflects her ties to all parts of the UK, with English lions, a Scottish rampant lion, and an Irish harp.
Inscribed on the coin: “The Princess Royal – Celebrating 75 Years – Duty and Devotion”, a fitting tribute to her decades of public service.
The Royal Mint unveiled the design on July 18 via social media, writing: “Join us as we celebrate Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as she marks her milestone 75th birthday with the first UK coin made in her honour.”
