Drake reignites The Weeknd feud rumours with latest track

Drake has just dropped his icy new single, What Did I Miss? and attentive listeners are wondering if the One Dance singer used a song sample by The Weeknd.

The Blinding Lights crooner reportedly has tension with the Passionfruit rapper due to the former not signing with the latter’s record label OVO Sound, despite the duo also sharing some friendly moments in the past.

After the five-time Grammy winner released his first track off of his upcoming album Iceman, fans couldn’t help but conjecture that he had used a track from the four-time Grammy winner.

Netizens took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a clip of Drake singing the song, with the question on most listeners mind, “did Drake sample The Weeknd?”

The post quickly garnered attention, with others replying to the speculation with things like, "Likely, he sampled The Weeknd."

Another wrote, “That will be crazy especially if he got it cleared,” with a third commenting “Bro, I was wondering the same shhh!”

Meanwhile a fourth noted that the Starboy singer “…wouldn’t have cleared it so no lol.”

Notably, Drake had allegedly expected The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye to be signed under him after the two collaborated on the former’s album Take Care.

In April, Drake announced his ninth solo album during a livestream with Adin Ross. "Working on a new album right now... It slaps," the rapper said.
