Ryan Gosling joins ‘Star Wars’ universe for the upcoming movie Starfighter.
At Star Wars Celebration Japan, Lucasfilm revealed that Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling will be the lead actor in the brand new film titled Starfighter.
Acclaimed director of Deadpool and Free Guy, Shawn Levy will direct the movie.
The film is described as a standalone adventure and will revolve around an uncharted era in the galaxy far away set through five years after The Rise of Skywalker.
“This is a standalone. It’s not a prequel, not a sequel. It’s a new adventure. It’s set in a period of time that we haven’t seen explored yet,” Levy said.
As reported by PRIMETIMER, the 44-year-old Canadian actor is being drawn to Jonathan Tropper’s “strong script and characters”.
Ryan Gosling is married to a retired American actress, Eva Mendes. The couple tied the knot secretly in 2016 surrounded by close family and friends but publicly announced it in 2022 when Eva gave a touching tribute to Ryan in an interview with Channel 9’s Today.
