Being happy all the time is the world’s most daunting task. Celebrities and politicians alike often share their mental health struggles in public life.
The same comes from Music mogul Rod Stewart, who’s reflecting on his past marriages, despite spending a happy married life with his current wife Penny Lancaster.
Last month, he spoke up about the split with his second wife Rachel Hunter.
Recalling his first meet with Lancaster at a bar soon after his split from his second wife Rachel Hunter, whom he married in 1990.
Stewart said, "She came up and asked for my autographs, so I said, do you like dancing? She was an incredible dancer, gorgeous, ai-yi-yi.”
Rod confessed that, “He was very lucky” going out of one marriage and into the next.
Stewart said, “His breakup from Hunter wasn’t easy,” in an interview with The Times that was published on June 27.
He recalled, "There were six months between Rachel and Penny because my bass player, who had Penny’s number, wouldn’t give it to me."
He added, "All you’re going to do now is shag around. And he was right, I had a splendid time in those six months,” said Stewart.
Disclosing the painful split that shattered him completely, Stewart said, “Rachel left me because she was too young - my sister said I should never have married her in the first place- but it tore me to shreds.”
“Now I’m happy with Penny and she’s got everything I could possibly want,” the musician said.
Rod values the role women play in men’s life, he said “It’s a perfect relationship. I always tell the girls in my band and my daughters, ‘a woman has so much living to do.’ It's your life! Forget men.”
"He was distraught," Hunter said. "I'll take to the grave the pain I caused Rod. I hurt the one person I loved and cared about and that's a hard thing to live with on a daily basis," the actress added.
